The JDCF has announced the release of version 1.2 of their SMPTE subtitle test content. Please feel free to download and use them for your testing.

Version 1.2 Details

• 2k, 24fps, flat/scope
• Removed "space" characters that were located between non-space characters in the top-to-bottom direction text. The space characters were originally inserted to realize a better appearance for subtitle engines that do not understand the top and bottom bearing information of each character in font files. With this version of test material, subtitle engines that can understand those bearing information realize appropriate appearances without the intentional space characters.

2K/4K and frame rate variants are available at version 1.0.
